Specialist boys’ training · Leighton Buzzard

Boys dance too.

Strong foundations.
Confidence to be yourself.

LHTS specialises in training boys, with the experience, encouragement and technical guidance to help every dancer develop.

Whether your son dances for enjoyment or dreams of a career on stage, he deserves a place where he feels welcome, supported and inspired.

For the love of dance. For wherever it takes you.

A place to belong.
Room to grow.

A dance career is one possibility. Confidence, friendship and the joy of dancing matter just as much.

Specialist training

We understand boys’ training and support their technical development across ballet, modern, tap and performance. Strong foundations help dancers grow in strength, coordination, musicality and versatility.

Confidence and community

From a first class to a first performance, our teachers encourage boys to be themselves, make friends and feel part of the LHTS community.

Opportunities to shine

Classes, shows and festivals give dancers opportunities to learn, perform and celebrate their progress. Every pupil’s journey is valued, whatever their ambitions.

A dancer’s perspective

“I was made to feel welcome immediately and very quickly felt like I belonged.”

Harvey · Former LHTS student
Read Harvey’s story

“I joined LHTS at 16 as a commercial dancer wanting to strengthen my technical foundations. Starting somewhere new as a male dancer felt intimidating, but I was welcomed immediately and quickly felt I belonged.

The dedicated boys’ training, variety of styles and opportunities to perform and compete were invaluable. The friendships and care from my teachers made these some of the best times of my life.

I’ll always be grateful to Leanne and LHTS for helping me become the dancer, teacher and person I am today. I would love every boy considering dance to experience that same sense of belonging.”

“Boys can dance too.”

“I would recommend any boy to start LHTS because boys can dance too. My dad used to be a professional ballet dancer and I would like to be like him someday too.

Since I started LHTS, I have made lots of new friends and really developed as a dancer. I was also very fortunate to qualify my ballet solo to the All England regional finals.

The teachers really help you improve and we also have a lot of fun.”

Finding confidence — and friendships

“Dance has helped Christophe (10) grow so much in confidence, from a shy little boy to someone who loves performing on the big stage, sometimes with a bit of cheekiness too! He has made some wonderful friendships, and I love seeing how excited he gets at festivals to spend time with his dance friends.”

“Whether we are at home or out and about, Edward is tap dancing.”

“My son, Edward who is 7, has really come out of his shell since starting dance classes at LHTS a year ago. His confidence has grown massively! He always looks forward to his dance classes and has made so many friends there. The whole community is really lovely and supportive. Whether we are at home or out and about, Edward is tap dancing. We look forward to being part of LHTS for many years to come.”

Mrs Cairns · Edward’s mum

His mum also shares that Edward loves dancing on stage in shows and festivals and watching his friends perform. He loves all his teachers and classes, but tap is his favourite.

From LHTS to a life on stage

Finding his tribe.

“As a young boy looking for my tribe, I felt I found it the moment I began dancing at LHTS. All the positives—the friendships, experiences, places, and people it brought me—are among the best things in my life. I would especially urge every young boy to dance; in my experience, it will only bring joy!”

A former student’s perspective

“LHTS gave me a place to dance as a boy, free from judgement and peer pressure. The school helped me develop my skills, challenge myself through competitions and build strong friendships.

I would definitely recommend LHTS to anyone—especially boys—who wants to perform and be part of a family that champions each other.”
